Deblobifying
Diabetic education class today was good. They personalized it quite a bit. Suggested an 1800 calorie diet for me; measured my HG-A1C @ 5.6 and reviewed the medications for each person in the class. We also got a comprehensive manual and many supplemental brochures to help us in the management of the disorder. I found it to be very helpful and would definitely recommend it to anyone struggling with an unstable blood glucose condition. Just feel that one has a greater sense of control with more knowledge.
The northeast is apparently being hit with a major winter storm this weekend; part of the reason that I moved to the Southeast. Here of course we have to contend with all the problems associated with mold, and they are numerous.
Of course I’ll try the 1800 calorie diet so that the blob writing this blog has a chance to deblobify. Limiting myself to 1800 calories daily though, might be as unrealistic as the re-emergence of Enron. Hopefully, Ernesto’s odds of becoming leaner and meaner are greater than the utility’s corporate rebirth. :o)

Where Is Everybody?
I’m finally at work early today. This must be the first time. Unfortunately, the office is closed due to observance of Martin Luther King Day. Wouldn’t you know it?
I spent the night in the local hospital at their Sleep Disorders Lab. The Sheraton it wasn’t! They did give me a pass to have a free breakfast in the hospital cafeteria. No indoor pool, HBO or other amenities though. :o)
I was having a titration study for my C-PAP machine, as I suffer from sleep apnea. You must have realized that there was something amiss, after reading my humor. I had a good night’s sleep and felt moderately better in the morning than I typically do. So, I think it will turn out to be helpful.
If you’ve got a spouse who snores extremely loud, and definitely if you observe that their breathing is interrupted, PLEASE, speak to your doctor about this. Sleep studies are not painful in anyway. Being treated for a sleep disorder such as obstructive sleep apnea, could save your life!! For more information, go to www.sleepapnea.org or

Friday at Mike’s
On Friday night, my wife and sister-in-law and myself went out for dinner. We enjoy going to a restaurant just about 5 miles from our home. It’s called Mike’s Farm.
Mike’s Farm is much more than a restaurant. It’s a place to get your Christmas tree. It’s a place to go on a hayride. There’s a petting zoo, gift shop, bakery and live music and a lot more.
As for the restaurant; the food is fresh and wonderful. You not only get unlimited refills on your beverage, as in most restaurants - you also get unlimited “seconds” on vegetables, meats and desserts.
If you’re ever in Eastern North Carolina, come on down!! Mike’s farm is a true experience. For a virtual experience go to: www.mikesfarm.com
Show Me The Money
Exactly who authorized the addition of a dumbwaiter advertisement on “Just Blogging Along”. I can tell the reader that the author/owner did not!
This was one issue not anticipated in our litiblogging statement. The author’s attorney will be receiving a phone call and instructed to investigate and address this issue.
No adverblogging without renumeration!

Let’s Go to the Blog Mail Bag
Brad from somewhere out in unidentified cyberspace writes, “why would anybody want to reproduce this stuff?”
Just Blogging Along’s reply:
If the stuff is so undesireable, why is it that you are obviously reading it, and have made 5 comments on it? Are you a glutton for punishment? Don’t you have an autopsy you need to get back to? :o)
In other news, today I attended a seminar entitled, “Expansion Seminar for Direct Enrolled Providers”. It was about changes in the provision of healthcare services for Medicaid recipients.
It was held in the Hilton. My question is, why wasn’t it held at Motel 6??
